A documentary about the artistry and struggle of Canadian figure skating coach and choreographer Ellen Burka. She recounts her life from pre-war Amsterdam, to Westerbork and Theresienstadt concentration camps, to Dutch National champion, to bohemian Toronto  in the 1950's and finally to world skating celebrity. The film shows how her enthusiasm allowed her wildly creative side to survive and flourish despite the harsh realities around her.

"Empty seats" and "Who will help me now"

This tandem of 2 movies, each running approximately 30 minutes, introduces holocaust history in a way that will make children and youth eager to understand better and know more. Dutch director Tim Klok and Toronto-based writer Cees Baas present historically accurate reconstructions of what happened to the Jewish children who disappeared from a grade 6-7 school class in the Netherlands, in 1941. The movies illustrate how injustice affects innocent children, in a compelling way, and without using shocking images or overt violence.

"Empty seats" (ages 10 and up)
Tells the story of young Roosje Mozes, who is being sent to SS concentration camp Vught. Discrimination, persecution, as well as heroic helpers, are shown in a moving tale that has been described as superbly made.

"Who will help me now" (ages 13 and up)
Tells the story of Gerda Nothmann, who survived several concentration camps and later wrote her memoirs in the book “Gerda’s Story”. Actual people from her life and times play their roles as perpetrator, helper, collaborator and bystander, making spectators wonder what role they would have played themselves.
